One Equal Music presents Beloved, an exploration of love’s enduring power and beauty. A collection of sumptuous choral repertoire inspired by the sanctity of marriage, the poetry of Song of Songs and the passion of romance. We speak words of love with the voice, and when we sing, these words of love become amplified to untold heights.
This program explores love’s timeless effect on the human condition, and includes several Australian works, including the piece that Tomasz Holownia (Co-Director) wrote for Eleanor Adeney (Co-Director) to walk down the aisle to.
Mingled with these are old and new European works, all gloriously and excitedly witnessing the power of devotion between two lovers.

After its successful first outing in 2023, we return to St Brigid’s to perform Rachmaninov’s monumental All-Night Vigil. Premiered in 1915, this masterpiece was born in the shadow of World War I and hailed as one of the greatest choral works ever written. Composed in just two weeks during some of Russia’s darkest days, this music offered solace to a nation in turmoil, transcending its sacred roots to become a universal expression of resilience and hope. Rachmaninov poured his soul into this work, blending ancient Russian chant traditions with his lush Romantic style to create something profoundly human and deeply spiritual. Featuring the soaring clarity of unaccompanied voices and the earth-shattering depths of the basso profundo, this is music that stirs the heart and lingers in the soul. Experience the All-Night Vigil live with One Equal Music and discover why Rachmaninov considered it one of his finest achievements.
